Social Work and Family Support

New Life Center empowers minority women to pursue good mental and relational health for themselves and their families through:

Access to Social Workers

Our licensed social workers offer vital support to women and families suffering from abuse, addiction and exploitation. They help women and their families navigate the government system.

Access to Comprehensive Health Services

Survivors of abuse and exploitation receive mental health care and medical care. Counseling and healing prepare them to build healthy relationships that are caring and mutually beneficial. Healthy relationships reduce conflict and divorce which leads to economic stability and safe, stable families for children.

Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others.
Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.

Therapeutic Art

Imago Art Ministry uses the process of creating visual art to cultivate

  • Personal insight, inner healing and resilience
  • Social belonging, culture care and shalom
  • Sacred encounter with God through visual prayer

Imago art is an outreach of the New Life Center, offering therapeutic art experiences for residents and the broader community. Participants have the opportunity to create visual art using painting, collage, art journaling and other artistic processes. Art is used to foster internal well-being by supporting cognitive development, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and a sense of agency.
